Apple Pie Recipe

Apple pie has been associated with European cuisine since at least the 14th century. The first recorded recipe for apple pie dates to 1381 in England, where it was known as the “pie of apples.”

 It is believed that the Dutch brought apple pie to America in the 17th century, where it became a popular dessert and a symbol of American culture. In fact, apple pie has been referred to as the “quintessential American dessert.” Today, apple pie remains a beloved dessert in many countries, themes and variations of the recipe can be found around the world.

here is a recipe for apple pie:

Ingredients:

2 pie hulls (hand-crafted or locally acquired)

8 cups of peeled, cored, and sliced apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

¾ -A cup of granulated sugar.

1/ cup of all-purpose flour

2 – tsp of ground cinnamon

1/4 -a teaspoon of ground nutmeg

1/4- a teaspoon of salt

2 -Tbsp butter (UNSALTED) cut it.

1 egg yolk (blended in with 1 Tb SP of water) for egg wash.

sugar for sprinkling on top (optional)

Instructions:

your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Carry out one pie covering and spot it in a 9-inch pie dish. Cut the edges and set them back.

In a bowl combine the cinnamon, sugar, flour nutmeg, and, cut apples, and salt. Toss everything together until the apples are coated evenly.

Empty the apple combination into the pre-arranged pie outside. Dab the highest point of the apples with little bits of margarine.

Roll out the second pie crust and cut it into strips for a lattice top. Alternatively, you can leave it whole and cut a few slits to vent the steam.

Arrange the pie crust strips over the top of the apples in a lattice pattern, weaving them over and under each other. Trim any excess crust and crimp the edges of the pie crust together with your fingers.

Dab the highest point of the apples with little bits of margarine. Touch the most noteworthy mark of the apples with small amounts of margarine.

Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

Permit the pie to cool on a wire rack for basically an hour prior to cutting and serving.
